About the Author

At 51, Peggy Bender has a face full of wrinkles and has earned every one of them. For this 'true-blue' Aussie, wrinkles are righteous and as natural as bark on a tree.
Peggy understands that HELL IS LOCKED FROM THE INSIDE. She found out the hard way—through years of self-obsession—that being 'pretty' was a prison and being real was the only way out.
She once felt the struggle firsthand, horrified by every new line, seeing wrinkles as a sign of failure. This early conflict inspired her to write From Wrinkles Are Ugly to Wrinkles Are Beautiful: to share her journey and show how easy it is to be comfortable in your own skin. She is dedicated to proving that youth is not the only form of beauty by actively dismantling the lies and propaganda of the 'anti-aging' warzone. To her, faces are living, breathing memoirs, and erasing them is akin to destroying a Picasso painting or burning pages of an ancient manuscript.
Peggy lives and breathes wrinkle acceptance and is an expert at Flipping the Script on beauty narratives. Her extensive personal research led her not only to sustained peace and freedom in her own skin, but also to recognising that wrinkles are beautiful, fascinating, and full of immense value.
With over 20 years as a Registered Nurse, Peggy gained invaluable, practical lessons in skin care and maintenance. This professional insight cemented her preference for facts over fiction and established a code of practice: 'Take care of your skin; it's the first line of defence.' Through decades of trial and error, she discovered that natural products were the only choice worth putting on the skin, a simple philosophy she sums up with her motto: 'Keep it simple, sweetheart.'
Peggy Bender is one of those rare people who lives with gratitude 24/7. She is a registered homeschool educator, and her favourite pastimes are studying Scripture, questioning everything, and creating mixed-media art projects. A true nature lover, Peggy feels right at home on a secluded bushwalk with ancient trees and waterfalls.
